Conversation Between Cop and Auntie Took an Unexpected Turn

A recent video went viral shows a Chinese auntie being fined RMB 20 for parking her bike illegally and was asked to pay it online.

The problem is that she didn’t understand how…

 

And then the two started chatting.

The auntie told the officer she came from the countryside to work in the city, washing dishes for restaurants.

She works hard to make ends meet, and as it turns out, this penalty equals what she makes in a day.

 

Feeling empathetic upon hearing her story, the officer offered to pay her fine.

However, she refused to let him move forward with his offer. “You also work hard to earn your salary,” she told the officer. “I can’t make you pay for a mistake I made. I’m still going to pay this fine.”

 

Little did the officer (and everyone else around her) know how hard her life actually is. Her children just got married and they, too, don’t have enough money to support themselves. So the mother moved to the big city in order to support them financially as much as she can.

Despite her hardships, she maintains a smile on her face, admitting that her lack of education on traffic and public rules eventually caused trouble.

 

Despite one’s lack of education – whether it be from school or common knowledge – the goodness of our hearts cannot be deceived by money or status.

This story certainly made think positively for the future and showed that the officers are not just drones following obediently they do have a sense of heart.
